I know, I know. There are amazing independent bookstores near me--Books Are Magic, McNally Jackson--and I frequent them often. They're my favorites. But a new Barnes and Noble opened recently and it's beautiful--an incredible improvement over the old one in the neighborhood, which closed--and when I walk in I feel happy. I'm used to B&N being the only bookstore around in Baton Rouge, where I grew up. So I can't help feeling it's important to support the chain bookstores, too, for teenagers like I was, who don't have anything else.
We love that Barnes and Noble so much!!! It feels so... different? It’s lovely and refreshing and organized so perfectly.
