I joined tiktok recently and find it so confusing. I cannot imagine how this is going to lead anyone to my podcast. Yet, I'm not ready to give up on that challenge. I guess we will see how much time I'm willing to commit. Ugh. Speaking of Xochitl Gonzalez-- did you see her recent piece in The Atlantic? SO good!
So regarding Instagram's latest algorithm nonsense: Have you noticed that you can't look at "most recent" hashtags anymore? Only the most popular. Yep. So Now I have absolutely no control over which posts I see in a specific hashtag—or if I will even see them at all. I follow you, so I can choose to find you in my followers and look at all your posts, but if I want to see other people posting with your #amreading hashtag, there is absolutely no way to find them unless IG decides to suggest them to me. which they only do if they think I will like it. which means books like Hot and Bothered are probably never going to show up. And that gets me a little hot and bothered. Thought I should bring it to your attention so you can share the info and/or take action.
